Jackie Boatwright-Daus
Shoes are definitely my weakness. My husband has two pairs of dress shoes and can't understand why I have to have a new pair with each outfit. But he has learned to use this to his advantage; no matter how upset he makes me, he knows new shoes makes me forget why I was upset from the start.
Most people know me through my adversity and my advocacy, and view me as this strong, no nonsense women, when in actually, I am the kind of woman that enjoys preparing my husband's plate and placing it on the table for him. At home I am a true damsel in distress! He is always the strong one, in essence I enjoy allowing my husband to open the pickle jar.
My favorite color is purple; all shades. The Bible associated the color purple with royalty. Growing up not having a lot, my mother always told me to walk into a room as though I have oil wells in my back yard. Whenever I am advocating, I make sure that I either wear something purple or carry my purple ribbon to remind me that I'm supposed to be in a position of power and authority.
Fishing is my favorite outdoor activity. I love it because it allows room for different realms of emotions. There is that silence that allows you an opportunity to think, as you are waiting for a bite, then that moment of sheer excitement as you are reeling the fish in!
